Consistently reliable service

I've been with WP Engine for a few years now, this was my third site I moved to their Managed WordPress Hosting. Just like my previous experiences, the migration was smooth, and the performance is always top-notch. It took about 3 days to get fully settled. That consistency is why I keep coming back; I know what to expect.

Love this hosting!

I just moved my blog to WP Engine's Managed WordPress Hosting and it's incredible! My site speed improved so much. The automated backups are a lifesaver. I'm telling all my friends who have WordPress sites about this. Definitely using them again!

Site works great now

So I finally moved my small business site over to WP Engine. I picked their Managed WordPress Hosting. It wasn't too hard to get everything set up, though I had a small hiccup with my DNS settings that I figured out. My site runs way smoother than before, which is nice. No complaints so far, it just works.

Good value for annual plan

As a first-time buyer, I was looking for the best deal. I got 4 months free by choosing an annual plan for the Managed WordPress Hosting, which made the price much more reasonable. It felt like a solid investment compared to monthly payments. The features included definitely make it worth the cost for what you get, especially with that discount.

Smooth migration and good tools

I recently migrated my main business site to WP Engine using their Managed WordPress Hosting. The migration tool worked well, even for a fairly complex setup, and I had minimal downtime. The Dev-Stage-Prod environments are incredibly useful for testing updates before pushing them live. I also appreciate the automated backups, which saved me a headache when I messed up a plugin update last week. Page Performance Monitoring showed a significant improvement after the move. The only minor issue was that SSH access sometimes felt a little slow, but overall, it's a solid platform that delivers on its promises.

Is SSL included for free with WP Engine plans, or do I need to buy that separately?

N Nancy Gomez 4 weeks ago
Yep, SSL is included. They integrate with Let's Encrypt so it's super easy to set up for free.

It's included! You don't have to pay extra for it, which is nice.

Is it true WP Engine doesn't let you use just any plugin? Heard some get blocked. Need to use a specific one for my site.

R Robert 1 week ago
They do have a list of disallowed plugins, mostly caching or security ones that conflict with their own setup. You should check their site for the exact list, but most common ones are fine.

Yeah, they block a few. It's usually plugins that do what WP Engine already does at the server level, so it's to prevent conflicts. Good idea to check if yours is on the list before committing.

Does WP Engine typically offer any discounts for existing customers when it's time to renew? Or is it just for new sign-ups?

R Richard Flores 1 week ago
From what I've seen, most of their best deals are for new customers. I haven't personally gotten a renewal discount, but you could try asking their sales team when your renewal comes up. Sometimes they'll offer something if you push a bit.

Nah, usually the big promos are for new folks. I think it's rare to get a renewal discount, unless maybe you're on a really old plan and they're trying to move you to a new tier or something.

Trying to figure out if it's worth it to go with WP Engine over SiteGround for a small business site. Is the price difference really justified?

D Daniel Nguyen 1 week ago
For a small site, SiteGround might be enough. WP Engine is definitely more premium, especially for performance and support, but it comes at a higher cost. Depends on how much traffic you expect and how critical uptime is.

I moved from SiteGround to WP Engine because my site was growing and I needed more stability and speed. For a critical business site, I'd say yes, it's worth it for the peace of mind and features like staging environments.

Hey, thinking of switching to WP Engine. How long does it actually take to get a site migrated over? Is it a huge pain?

N Nancy Moore 1 month ago
They have a migration plugin that makes it pretty straightforward. I moved a couple of sites last year and it was surprisingly quick, like less than an hour per site for me.

Yeah, the plugin does most of the heavy lifting. Just follow the steps, it's not too bad. If you get stuck, their support is usually pretty good.
